Mike White is a singer/songwriter of the pop/rock/power pop variety from the UK. At age 19, Mike has already released two albums, Contrast, and When The Sky Falls In, both released independently, available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify etc. and in physical from order through his website.

However, this is only the beginning. Over the past two years, to promote both records Mike has appeared on local radio stations Wessex FM and Wave 105, with an appearance at 2011′s Bournemouth Fireworks Display on the Pier via Heart FM being a major landmark in his progress. The music is catchy, poppy and the lyrics are something everyone can relate to; “My new song, Hours, is about initially pushing the memory of someone away, trying to keep them out of your head, whether they be an ex-girlfriend or boyfriend or even if they passed away and then suddenly coming to the realization that even though you don’t want to think about them because it hurts so much, it hurts more knowing that they’re never coming back”, Mike says. At present, a video for the single, Plastic Girls, is in production and due for release in early August. Additionally, Mike is gigging regularly promote the single and the record. With big things coming in the next 12 months, including recording an EP with producer Jim Wirt (Hoobastank, Incubus, Something Corporate) in early 2012, Mike has his sights set high.

Aside from the music, the actual records themselves make Mike stand out. Both recorded entirely by himself, with mastering by Donald W. Mohr on When The Sky Falls In, both records have an incredible intimate feel to them, with Mike’s attention to detail and love of the studio shining through on both records.

With new demos constantly appearing online and gigs actively taking place along the south of the UK, there’s no doubt that the next 12 months will be memorable to say the least. Safety First is due for release in the winter of 2011 with the currently untitled EP produced by Jim Wirt due for release in the third quarter of 2012.
